club reports 2017
September and October
Despite 12 of our regular dancers being unable to attend we were delighted to have 46 at our September dance. We had five new sequence dancers join us and they all enjoyed the programme. It was great to have so many dancers all enjoying Old Time Dancing and there was a great atmosphere. We are lucky to have such a friendly group who all help to make visitors welcome. There was quite a buzz with everyone talking about upcoming events, dances and holidays, the lists are filling up for the Bath Summer Ball and The Southern Ball next year. Clare and Ann were back from their holidays and Clare had baked some lovely cakes for everyone to enjoy. In October we continued with good numbers, with 38 attending. We put the Cuckoo waltz on the programme, would it frighten off the dancers who have joined us from modern sequence? Not a bit, it went down very well and everyone joined in and enjoyed the dance. As well as dancers from Bath we are still attracting dancers from a wide area from Gloucester to Yeovil, Bristol, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Keynsham, to enjoy Old Time Dancing.

The first four months of 2017 have seen our numbers attending regularly, increasing. We are grateful for the support we receive with dancers coming from a wide area. We were especially pleased to have 50 for our dance in April, some of the dancers had been with us on Bernice and Grahame Baldwin’s holiday and travelled back from Lytham St Annes on the Friday, to come to the dance, what great supporters they are. Our May programme is published on our web site, no Friday dance in June because we have the Bath Summer Ball on Saturday 10th June, which we are now preparing for.
